Much of the limelight  went to the Paratroopers of the Army's elite Airborne divisions during WWII.  The story of their Glider Bretheren who went into battle in Waco and Horsa Gliders  is no less part of the heroic deeds and history of the 82nd Airborne Division during WWII.  These "Glider Riders" as they were called were issued nothing more than Mae West Vests and were not issued parachutes upon boarding their gliders.   One of their own, PFC. Charles DeGlopper was awarded the Medal of Honor during the early fighting near the Merderet River in Normandy.

The WWII Research and Preservation Society is a nonprofit public benefit educational society that exists for the purpose of instruction and re-creation of the life and times of the period 1939-1945.  It was designated as a WWII Commemorative Community by the Department of Defense in 1993.  It is our commitment and goal to honor and thank those who contributed to our great nation during WWII.  We portray the soldiers of the 325th Glider Infantry Regiment of the 82nd Airborne division through public events, educational activities and reenactments.  It is a true  honor to pay homeage to the vetrans of the 325th Glider Infantry Regiment of WWII and to keep the memory of their service to their country alive through our impression.
